A pool benefits your home and family in a number of ways; it gets everyone outside, cuts down on screen time for kids in summer and even works as a valuable selling point if you ever want to list your home. Spring is the perfect time to install a new pool; once it is complete, you’ll have the entire summer and even the beginning of fall to enjoy. Learning more about pool installation and how long it takes will give you a good idea of when you should start the process. Consider the time you’ll want to start swimming and enjoying, then count backwards, taking the following points and elements into consideration.
How Long will it Take to Install my New Pool?
Every pool we create is uniquely designed for the landscaping and home surrounding it. We take great care in matching the pool design, materials and landscaping features to your home to ensure you get the best possible return on your investment, and that you love the finished result. Consider two to six weeks as a starting point; each any of the following considerations will impact the time your pool will take to create.
Design and Details
Your pool is not a one-size-fits-all purchase. It is a significant investment in the value of your home, so we take the time to work with you to determine the style you like best. We also look at your existing space to see which materials would work best and which style best suits your home. Finally, we come up with a rendering that allows you to see what your new pool will look like when it is complete.
Permitting and Paperwork
Once your design is in place, we’ll take care of getting the proper permits to work on site and let you know if there is any additional paperwork required on your side.
Yard and Site Preparation
The time this takes will depend on the current setup of your yard, any demolition required and any existing elements in place. Proper preparation is essential for a successful pool installation and key to getting lasting performance from your new pool. When the site is ready, your new pool location will be marked and excavated.
Construction
The actual installation of your pool, including support elements, concrete, plumbing and more, you’ll see your new pool and spa develop before your eyes. If you’ve chosen tile as an accent, it will be installed, as will key electic and plumbing for the pool area.
Deck Layout and Landscaping
The other element that differentiates a quality, custom pool from a conventional one is the landscape and deck area. We create a comfortable and elegant pool deck area, following the initial design.
Once the last steps are complete, your pool will be filled and ready to enjoy. The best way to determine how long your specific pool will take is to talk to one of our specialists about your goals and needs; we’ll be able to help you find the perfect match for your home, style and budget, and give you a clear idea of how much time it will take.
